This is the second year for the festival, which was a "world's first" in 2006. Unlike last year, this year's festival will be free to enter, thanks to a sponsorship from Small Dog Electronics. (www.smalldog.com) "We learned a lot from last year's groundbreaking festival, including the fact that people don't like to pay to submit their film. Thanks to Small Dog, we've eliminated the entry fee," said Flux Founder Ryan Ritchey.
"There are so many new iPod owners since the last festival, that we expect a great response from people looking for fresh, fun films to watch on the iPod," Ritchey said.
Other changes include a podcast feed of all the films, and a new voting system combining viewer voting and judging by a professional panel. Entries for the fest are being accepted now through March 18, 2007 in three categories: Student Film, Independent Film, and "The Kitchen Sink;" a category for all other clips.
Entries from 11 countries were part of last year's inaugral/"beta test" edition of the festival.
Prizes for the festival include Apple iPods and the Apple Mac Mini to the Best of Fest winner.
